Spinal Fracture Diagnosis

The golden standard in diagnosing high energy traumas is computed tomography (CT). In the presence of the suspicions specified above, these patients must undergo CT scans for the relevant regions (or the whole spine). After identifying the fracture with CT, and especially if there are nervous injury symptoms present, an MRI scan is conducted considering the emergency status and the present capacity.

In patients with a suspicion of low energy osteoporotic fractures, the golden standard is the MRI scan. These patients need to undergo MRI scans without losing time along with other examinations.
