Acıbadem Healthcare Group serves patients to have headaches diagnosed and treated by specialized physicians who use the technological infrastructure. Patients with undiagnosed or refractory headache are assessed by our physicians.

Headache Treatment: Diagnosis and Treatment Services

Neurologists take the major role in diagnosis and treatment of patients who present with complaint of headache. Certain examinations can be ordered if there is any suspicion regarding other conditions that might be provoke the pain specified by the patient in the admission.

There might be more than one problem causing the headache. In such cases, the headache unit cooperates with other departments, including but not limited to Psychiatry, Dentistry, Maxillofacial Surgery, Ophthalmology, Otorhinolaryngology, Neurosurgery, Internal Medicine, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and Pain Management (Algology).

Treatment of headache aims to reduce frequency and severity of the headache. Hospitalization is rarely required.

During the treatment process, patients will be asked to fill in a pain diary that is provided by the specialists. This diary is used to record daily pains so that the physician can follow up the course of treatment.
