768-Slice Coronary CT Angiography in a Single Heartbeat with SOMATOM Drive

The new generation SOMATOM Drive Computed Tomography system enables coronary CT Angiography without the use of heartbeat-independent beta-blockers, thanks to its dual-tube dual-detector technology and the ability to complete one full turn in 0.28 seconds.

When scanning patients with metal implants, iMAR software is used to improve image quality, reducing the glare effect caused by the metal. Thanks to the use of the software for different implant types ( dental filling, pacemaker, hip implant, etc. ), high-resolution, patient-specific detailed studies are performed.

The new generation SOMATOM Drive Computed Tomography system is designed to address all patient types. Especially for pediatric patients, imaging is performed at ultra-low dose with ultra-fast acquisition mode without the need for sedation.

With Flash mode, it scans 458 mm per second and with its dual tube dual detector architecture, it prevents image distortion due to movement and breathing, which can be seen in emergency cases, pediatric, obese and Parkinson's patient groups.

One of the benefits of the new generation SOMATOM Drive Computed Tomography system's dual-tube dual-detector technology is that it enables imaging with a low amount of contrast material thanks to its Flash mode, high generator power and the ability to increase high mA values at low kV. Thus, in patient groups that may be sensitive to contrast agents, such as chronic kidney disease and diabetes, imaging can be performed with a smaller amount of contrast agent. The 78 cm wide gantry opening creates a comfortable space for patients with claustrophobia.

The system automatically adjusts the organ-specific voltage according to the patient's body mass index, enabling ultra-low dose extraction.

With the SOMATOM Drive Computed Tomography System , air and soft tissue separation in the lung, bone tissue separation and tissue characterization are provided at the highest level thanks to the Tin Filter and Dual Energy technologies in the system, especially for oncology patients. This increases the chance of diagnosing anomalies that can be seen in the early stages.

Thanks to touch panels for pediatric and anxious adult patients and different colored lights in the gantry that can be selected according to the mode, patients can be easily guided during the shooting and the healthcare worker and the patient can stay in constant communication.
